Lowell Observatory was established atop Mars Hill in Flagstaff in 1894, making it one of the oldest observatories in the United States. Its original 24-inch telescope is still in use today. In 1930, Pluto was discovered from Lowell by Clyde Tombaugh using a 13-inch telescope. Besides the heavens, you can also get a birds-eye-view of the city below.
